Download Driver Brother DCP-8110DN

Brother DCP-8110DN Driver Download. The Brother DCP-8110DN works fast and reliable. The print and copy results offer a good quality. The device consumes little power in standby (1.2W) and prints from standby already after a few seconds. I use the printer as a network printer. The Airprint function did not even need a driver on my Mac (iOS 10.9). Google Cloudprint works from chrome too. However, I had problems from the Android phone, here the printer is listed, but displayed as unreachable. It can not be printed. But this is also true for some other printers. It could also be a Google bug. In general, Google Cloudprint seems too limited. Almost no settings can be made (eg no duplex printing, no media selection or paper tray).

As a scanner, the device, as with other Brother MFC devices, but only tolerable. Rasterized originals create unsightly streaks, and high-resolution scanning takes extra time compared to other scanners. Also gradations in the white and black areas are swallowed. The latter seems to be normal in the field of multifunction devices. Anyway, in the typical Bussinessbereich the device works well and fast. Copying or scanning from a stack of paper is surprisingly fast and of good quality. Without any problems even 8 pages can be read on a double-sided sheet of paper.

I chose Brother because it is the (only?) Manufacturer that does not put any technical obstacles in the way of using alternative toners. So you can buy a replacement cartridge for 8000 pages already for about 20 € (instead of the original 120 €). You get so incredibly low page prices. If you only buy toner powder and refill yourself, it is even cheaper.

Although it sounds a bit critical, I'm very happy with my purchase. It is a great office device. For graphics applications, the scanner is less recommended. But that is not the focus of such a multifunction device. The original toner cartridge was now empty. So I just ordered the cheapest Ebay dealer (Trensco GmbH / "Ink Discount") 2 spare cartridges TN 3380 for 8000 pages for 33,80 € including shipping. I thought laser toner, unlike ink, can not do much wrong. But puff pie. Right off the first few pages it turned out that the recycling of the residual toner in these cartridges does not work properly. The result is falling toner in the device and thus contaminated with residual toner printouts. When I complained about this 2 spare cartridges were delivered to me. But they had the same problem. (I'm totally unclear how to sell products that clearly can not work properly!) Finally, I was refunded my payment. I sucked the printer. And the trusted toner dealer I used to buy toner for my old printer, since I had found nothing suitable in his shop. (Cartridge Star East, just googling and calling.) Because this had originally advised me to a Brother printer. For him, the single TN3380 alternative cartridge cost 25 € including shipping, but this works fine. The prints are clean again, as is the device.

Only a small weakness I could notice: If I print stickers, the printing is generally a bit slower, because the thicker paper has to be heated a little longer to fix the toner on the paper. Apparently that is not quite enough. Because with the alternative toner it comes with strong rubbing on the expression at individual points rather a smear, as the original toner. That does not have strong proportions. It's just the only difference I've seen so far on close observation. We print a lot of package stickers every day which can all be used without problems. Also ordered the same for € 19.90 500g toner powder for self-refilling, which should be enough for 2x 8000 pages. Instructions are available on Youtube under the cartridge name. All in all, I can still recommend the printer - with the right alternative toner - so much.
