ZyXEL NWD6605 Driver Download. I have bought this wireless adapter because it is compatible with the DS411slim ( Synology DS411Slim NAS system (6.4 cm (2.5 inch), 4-bay diskless, 1.6GHz, SATA, USB 2.0) by SYNOLOGY ) Was listed. And really: Just plugged into the USB port and it worked immediately on this NAS, to which I can now also wirelessly access via WLAN. Is of course a special application case, but perhaps helps with a purchase decision. This ZyXEL NWD6605 is also really small, stands only about 3 cm protruded. So for a good 2.5 weeks now I use this WiFi adapter on my Windows 8.1 desktop PC. The connection is made with a Fritz! Box 7490 by 802.11ac, thus the currently most current WiFi standard.

Let's get straight to the problems: After reboots, there are sometimes connection problems. These are expressed by failing connection attempts or difficulties an IP address to refer. However, pulling out and reinserting the stick helps here. The product description contains "AC1200". This suggests that this stick can reach the full 1.2 Gbit / s. However, this is not the case. Unfortunately this is not mentioned in technical details of the product information from Amazon. For this, a look at the poorly formatted product description is necessary: "Data transmission rate: 867 Mbps".

He really uses the full 867 Mbits of wifi performance! A perfectly working product with the right driver for the current Windows operating system.

It works with my Synology DS212j, and the raspberry pi easily. Under Raspbmc the device is recognized as 8192cu, driver installation is not necessary, only the configuration of wlan. Under Raspian, it is interesting to note that channels 12 and 13 can not be reached. Apparently the patching, practically I currently only use Raspbmc, and I will look at the occasion. On Ubuntu 12.04 in 32-bit and 64-bit, and also 14.04 64-bit, this problem exists the same way.
