Epson WorkForce WF-2660 Driver Download. The Workforce WF-2660 is a 4-in-1 printer that comes from the Epson 2014 family of TPE's, and embeds everything in the industry (Wi-Fi, connected services, NFC, touchscreen). On paper, it has everything from a complete printer. If you're looking for more from Epson, you'll have to look to Workforce Pro machines. If, on the other hand, the NFC and the tactile do not interest you, the other WF-2650 will be more indicated. The first thing that strikes us with this printer is the quality of its finish.
Completely in black plastic, the Epson WorkForce WF-2660 does not shine by its quality of assembly. Nothing seems really solidary, I do not really feel the 170 € asked by Epson in exchange for its high-end model. The paper tray with the correct capacity (150 A4 sheets) is not very ergonomic and confirms the first impression. The touchscreen has a correct and intuitive display for comfortable operation. The presence of an automatic document feeder and two-sided printing is highly appreciated.

The NFC, which is always practical, also makes it possible to dispense with a sometimes painful phase of association of a mobile device with the machine. Lovers of wired networks will be satisfied with the presence of an Ethernet port, while deplored the absence of a card reader or a port to connect a USB storage device (key or hard disk). The printing of texts is not a problem, nor is the printing of graphics. I can distinguish the details, the gradations are correct despite the presence of drops slightly visible. On the other hand, the flows are rather disappointing.
I recorded 15 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white and 9 ppm in color. It is far from what Brother offers with its MFC-J4620DW which reaches 21 and 16 ppm respectively. Only on Duplex is faster at Epson, with 8 ppm versus 6 ppm at Brother. Printing on photo paper makes the colors correct. The dE94, the difference between the actual colors and the observed colors that should be closest to zero is here 6.7, just below the average of 7, measured on inkjet printers.

Unfortunately, the color fidelity does not do everything and the drops are very visible, which produces an effect of noisy photos. The picture is definitely not the strong of this Epson WorkForce WF-2660 since its bit rates are also quite slow. It takes 1 min 22 s to print a 10 x 15 and 3 min 21 s for an A4. Again, Brother did better with the J4620DW in, respectively, 25 s and 2 min 23 s. The copy is not one of the fastest, but still acceptable in terms of throughput, with 11 seconds waiting for the reproduction of a black and white document.
The color is less powerful, with 26 s to see a "clone" of our document appear. Note the quotation marks because, no miracle, the quality is degraded at the output. The scanner offers the correct time to scan to the computer: 10 s for a document and 13 s for a 10 x 15 photo. On these points, the Epson is as good as the Brother. If in terms of consumption Epson competes with Brother with measurements at 1 W in standby and 15 W during a photo printing, the first one is much noisier.

Indeed, I recorded 53 dB (A) in operation for the Epson WorkForce WF-2660, against only 47 dB (A) for the J4620DW. A nice gap all the same. With its 4 separate cartridges, this new Workforce series does not shine particularly for its cost per page. Indeed, the Epson WorkForce WF-2660 is 13.8 cents per page, well above the average I calculated on 49 models and which is 9.3 cents. Too bad, when I know that the Workforce Pro series excels in this field.
In terms of responsiveness, the Epson Workforce WF-2660 is in the nails, with a first page coming out after 11 sec. The standby output and the lighting are satisfactory, with respectively 14 and 22 s to see a printing. On paper, this Epson Workforce WF-2660 is a well-equipped machine, but from paper to practice, there is a chasm. For a machine dedicated to small businesses, therefore relatively expensive, one can be disappointed. A little more expensive, certainly, the Brother MFC-J4620DW will be much more appreciated.
