Asus Pro B9440UA Notebook Driver Download
Asus Pro B9440UA Driver Download. I have been using the Asus Pro B9440UA for a month now (web developer) with two external monitors, i.e. in three-screen operation. I have the version with 16GB RAM. The RAM is not replaceable, so you should think twice about whether the savings make sense for the 8GB model. After a short test, I upgraded the device to a Samsung 960 PRO 1TB SSD and installed Windows 10 Pro.
The fan: yes, it is noticeable when the processor is called upon. As long as the load is kept within limits, the background noise is also acceptable. The background noise at low load (in mains operation) is quiet, the refrigerator two rooms further can be heard better. The fan sometimes goes out completely in battery mode. This is due to the fact that in the energy settings the minimum CPU performance is set to 0% for battery and 5% for mains operation. Interventions in the fan control should be carefully weighed up, the core temperature quickly climbs to 60 degrees under load and settles down to just under 80 degrees. That is OK, but with ill-considered interventions in the controls you can quickly tip it over. Personally, the noise doesn't bother me. For years I had a passively cooled device and the resulting consequences are much more annoying, the device doesn't get loud there, but rather warm and lame. If the fan turns up unexpectedly, a background process is usually to blame (Windows Update or antimalware).
The touchpad Asus Pro B9440UA drivers of all Asus notebooks unfortunately have the superfluous feature of increasing the processor performance with multi-touch (for smooth scrolling). If the fan runs a lot and the battery runs empty quickly without the device being used, you should take a look at the power options (Start> Edit power plan> Change advanced power settings> Processor power management> Minimum power level). It should be 0% for battery operation, for me it was 100% after installing the driver. This is guaranteed not to come from Microsoft, certainly a bug in the Asus driver.
As many have already described, the display is too warm in white. There is not much that can be changed about this with a calibration using a colorimeter. The picture impression in the other recession is deceptive, however, it is not that extreme. The impression there arises because the other device is too cold white, the automatic white balance is based on the colder white in the situation and the color temperature is so high that the too cold screen appears neutral. Basically, I have no problems with the warm white, because the display convinces with its super-matt surface. What good is the theoretically most accurate display if in practice, even in a darker room, all colors are always falsified by overlaid reflections?
The Asus Pro B9440UA speakers are amazingly good. In view of the size, it is very loud and has an incredibly strong bass (without distorting) The touchpad doesn't crack, it has a button underneath (it can be pressed down and that's intentional). I think the touchpad glides very well and the sensitivity can be adjusted in Windows. Very good keyboard and the space between the F keys (thanks, Asus). Most of the drivers on the website are * older * than the drivers on the supplied CD (a poor mark). I think the missing camera is good, I have never used it on a notebook and I like the courage to take this step.
The housing can be opened very easily, no hidden detents and the like, just screwed on. With a work notebook that runs a lot, it is important to blow out the dust that has been sucked in at least once a year. Otherwise the fan will run more and more frequently due to heat build-up. Changing the battery at some point won't be a problem either.
Overall, Asus Pro B9440UA is a good and very fast device that clearly outshines a current MacBook 2017. Together with the Simdock Pro, a good working solution.
